What is reactive printing? This process seals the color and artwork to prevent oxidation. Given that the reactive dye in the inks actually reacts with the fiber, it actually becomes part of the fiber, resulting in excellent wash fastness. Why is it important? This process prevents fading with regular use and cleaning, maintaining vibrant and bright colors. Island Heritage towels are 350gsm, compared to the standard 250gsm beach towels. What is GSM ? GSM is short for grams per square meter. All fabrics have a weight, and the standard measurement for the weight and quality of fabrics is grams per square meter. Why is this important? The number refers to the density of the towel. The lower the number, the lighter and thinner the towel. Our 350gsm beach towels have a greater, tighter thread counts compared to standard 250gsm beach towels on the market, preventing the towel from becoming thin and worn. Island Heritage are made of 100% preshrunk cotton terrycloth. Why is this important? Terrycloth is a fabric with loops of thread covering both surfaces. This process allows for the fabric to absorb larger amounts of water.
